Our first affiliate venture was the Classic Institute of Music, which was set up in 1986 in Bahrain under the patronage of Mr. Jalal Ali Ebrahim, a well-known local businessman and philanthropist. Mr. Waheed Ahmed bin Hasan, a Bahraini with Baccalaureate Degree in Piano and Oboe, and a Masters Diploma in Musicology from conservatory of Music in Egypt, with 15 years experience as a Musician, Composer and Educator, was the ideal personality to head this excellent Institute. He is one of few Musicologists in the GCC who has published several books in the traditional Music – Pearl Diving Songs in Bahrain, Laiwa Music in the Gulf Countries, etc.
Mr. Waheed Ahmed bin Hasan has been involved in many prestigious projects such as organizing the audio and multimedia arrangements for the Asian Cup 96, celebrations of the U.A.E. National Day; large-scale multimedia shows for the 25th Anniversary of the U.A.E. Federation and the Oman National Day celebrations in 1998.
